Korean Won Surges Past 1% to Lead Asian Currency Gains

Driven by robust global demand for semiconductors, South Korea's exports hit a record high in early September, propelling the Korean won to rise over 1% against the U.S. dollar, outperforming all other Asian currencies.

The USD/KRW pair fell as much as 1.2% to 1,370.50, marking the largest single-day drop since September 7th.
