Shandong Sunway Chemical Forms Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with DICP

Deep News04-03

Shandong Sunway Chemical Group Co.,Ltd. announced during an investor research session that it has established a comprehensive strategic partnership with the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Centered on national strategic needs and industrial policies, the collaboration will leverage the respective strengths of both parties to engage in substantive cooperation across various areas. These include technology development and industrialization in petrochemicals, chemicals, energy, and materials, joint research platform construction, and talent exchanges.

A jointly developed technology, known as "Off-Site Electrocatalytic Complete Decomposition of Hydrogen Sulfide to Produce Hydrogen and Sulfur," is an original innovation with independent intellectual property rights in its field. The technology has completed pilot testing and has been evaluated by an expert committee from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. The committee unanimously recognized the achievement as internationally leading and approved the evaluation. They recommended scaling up the equipment to accelerate its commercial application.

The pilot demonstration unit achieved complete conversion of hydrogen sulfide, producing sulfur with a purity exceeding 99.95% and high-purity hydrogen with a purity above 99.999%. This maximizes the clean treatment of pollutants such as hydrogen sulfide, yielding dual resource benefits from hydrogen and sulfur production. It also broadens the pathways for producing clean, low-carbon hydrogen in the industrial sector.
