On December 10, Changan Auto marked a historic milestone as its 30 millionth China-brand vehicle—an Avatr 12 equipped with four lidar sensors—rolled off the production line at its Chongqing Avatr Digital Intelligence Factory. This achievement solidifies Changan as the fastest automaker to reach this production milestone among Chinese brands.
Zhu Huarong, Chairman of Changan Auto, expressed gratitude: "Today’s success stems from our loyal customers, dedicated partners, and generations of Changan employees. We extend our deepest thanks to all who have supported us." Data reveals Changan’s accelerating growth: the first 10 million vehicles took 30 years (achieved in 2014), the second 10 million took 7 years (2021), and the latest 10 million required just 4.5 years (2025).
With this milestone as a springboard, Changan unveiled its strategic blueprint: transforming into a smart, low-carbon mobility tech company under three key initiatives—the "Shangri-La" new energy plan, "Beidou" intelligent drive strategy, and "Global Oceans" expansion plan. By 2030, the company targets annual sales of 5 million vehicles, with over 60% being new energy vehicles (NEVs) and 30% sold overseas.
In NEVs, Changan will prioritize safety and core tech R&D, expanding its Avatr, Deepal, and Qiyuan brands. It will also invest in next-gen batteries, IGBT semiconductors, digital energy, and battery recycling to explore scalable commercial models.
For intelligent driving, Changan’s "Tianshu Intelligence" brand will focus on autonomous driving, chassis control, and smart cockpits, with plans to launch end-to-end autonomous solutions and multimodal AI models. The company also aims to commercialize humanoid robots by 2028 and flying cars for urban air mobility by 2030.
Globally, Changan will deepen localization, strengthen ESG practices, and enhance its overseas R&D, manufacturing, logistics, and service networks to build a comprehensive international presence.
