The Beijing Municipal Education Commission announced that 42 private higher education institutions and private non-degree higher education institutions have passed the annual inspection and evaluation, qualifying them for enrollment in the 2025–2026 academic year.
The inspection, conducted by the Commission and six other departments, assessed the operational status of these institutions in 2024. The results were published in two batches on the official website. The first batch included 35 institutions—11 full-time and 24 part-time—while the second batch comprised seven institutions.
According to the "Notice on the 2025 Autumn Enrollment Policy for Private Higher Education Institutions and Private Non-Degree Higher Education Institutions" issued by the Commission, these institutions are not authorized to issue nationally recognized academic credentials. Instead, they provide cultural and vocational training, including preparatory courses for self-study higher education examinations. Students enrolled in such programs must complete all required courses and pass the relevant Beijing self-study examinations to obtain a nationally recognized diploma.
Enrollment brochures must clearly state the institution’s name, non-degree status, location, and programs offered, avoiding any content prohibited by laws or policies. All promotional materials must be filed with the Commission and match the approved content in all public releases, including print, broadcast, television, and online platforms.
