According to a regulatory filing, SK Hynix booked a KRW 3.98 trillion derivative trading loss in 1H 2026 tied to exchangeable bonds issued in April 2023.
The loss stemmed from bondholders exercising conversion rights and a rise in SK Hynix’s Korean-listed share price.
The company said the accounting loss does not involve cash outflow and that gains on disposal of treasury shares recognized when the bonds converted have largely offset the loss.
