As the annual Spring Festival holiday approaches, the familiar promise of "express delivery without interruption" returns. Recently, multiple logistics companies have released service announcements for the holiday period. Announcements from companies such as S.F. Holding Co., Ltd., JD LOGISTICS, and Deppon indicate they will ensure delivery service demand during the holiday, while adding peak-season resource adjustment fees to manage resource allocation needs. Kuayue Express stated it will maintain normal pickup and delivery services during the holiday, although timeliness is not guaranteed in some areas. Conversely, Yimidida and Shunxin Express (under the S.F. Holding Group) will suspend parcel collection during the holiday break.
S.F. Holding, JD Logistics, and Deppon announced that due to multiple factors including constrained resource allocation during the holiday and extreme weather changes, delivery times may be affected to varying degrees. They will flexibly schedule parcels and resources and dynamically adjust some service charges. Specifically: from January 19 to February 15, 2026, S.F. Holding will charge a resource adjustment fee of 0.1 to 1.5 RMB/kg for some customers shipping products over 20kg (inclusive); and during the Spring Festival period from February 16 to February 23, 2026, an additional resource adjustment fee will be applied to delivery services. Some long-term, deeply cooperative monthly-billed customers and member customers may enjoy discounts or waivers on this fee.
JD LOGISTICS' "Express Heavy Cargo Product Service Announcement" indicates that, affected by peak-season traffic and regional scheduling resources, it will add a peak-season resource adjustment fee of 0.1 to 1.2 RMB/kg to the base price of its express heavy cargo products from January 19 to February 23, 2026. For some cooperative monthly-billed customers, different fee standards will be applied during different time periods based on their specific cooperative products.
Beyond heavy cargo products, JD LOGISTICS' services including warehousing and distribution, express delivery pickup and drop-off, home appliance delivery-installation-repair, and instant delivery will continue during the Spring Festival. It is reported that during the holiday, all of its "Asia No. 1" smart industrial parks will operate 24/7, while coordinating with hundreds of regional smart warehouses to build a stable, nationwide fulfillment network, continuing to offer services like "same-day delivery" and "next-day delivery." JD LOGISTICS will also collaborate with partner merchants to strengthen instant delivery guarantees, with special items like same-city flowers and urgent medicines potentially delivered in as fast as 9 minutes. To better meet the demand for sending gifts between relatives and friends during the holiday, JD Express will continue providing "door-to-door pickup and delivery" services.
Deppon's announcement stated that, affected by peak-season traffic and regional scheduling resources, it will add a fee of 0.2 to 0.5 RMB/kg for some customers and products from January 19 to February 14, 2026; and during February 15 to February 23, 2026, a resource adjustment fee will be added for some customers and products. For long-term, deeply cooperative customers, different fee standards will be applied based on their cooperative products.
The pre-Spring Festival travel period is the peak for shipping New Year goods, leading to a small surge in business volume. Due to the long service chain and numerous links in logistics, shortages in transport capacity and imbalanced cargo volumes can further drive up transportation and operational costs. Charging a "resource adjustment fee" (or "Spring Festival service fee") has long become an industry norm during the holiday season. In terms of manpower, the vast majority of frontline couriers, sorters, and truck drivers are migrant workers who return home en masse for the New Year, causing staffing shortages and forcing express companies to hire temporary workers, incurring additional labor costs. However, it should be noted that the so-called "resource adjustment fee" is primarily charged to business clients (e-commerce customers or contractual clients).
Regarding express cargo services, announcements about service suspensions during the Spring Festival for Yimidida and Shunxin Express (under the S.F. Holding Group) have been circulating online. Yimidida's announcement states that the latest parcel acceptance time for its network outlets is February 10 (the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month), with the latest vehicle operation time being February 9 (the 22nd day of the 12th lunar month), and normal operations resuming on February 25 (the 9th day of the 1st lunar month). Shunxin Express's announcement indicates that outlets will suspend parcel collection and pickup/delivery from February 12 (the 25th day of the 12th lunar month) to February 23 (the 7th day of the 1st lunar month), with normal operations resuming on February 24 (the 8th day of the 1st lunar month). Considering abnormal factors like weather and the Spring Festival travel rush, timeliness is not guaranteed for goods shipped after February 4.
Kuayue Express's "2026 Spring Festival Holiday Timeliness Notice" shows that it will maintain normal pickup and delivery during the holiday, but for goods with pickup/delivery dates between February 15 and 23, same-day and next-day delivery in tier-one and tier-two cities will operate normally (though delays may occur); timeliness is not guaranteed for tier-three and lower cities. Timeliness is also not guaranteed for other service methods.
Besides company-operated express services, some franchised express companies have also officially announced no service suspension during the Spring Festival. For example, STO Express released a New Year goods festival support plan on January 23, stating that the 2026 "New Year goods festival" period is extended, with order volume peaks approaching "Singles' Day" levels. During this time, its 76 transfer centers will operate normally, its Daniao "half-day delivery" service will run as usual, and "flash sale 4-hour delivery" will be launched in 12 key cities. In its recently launched 2026 "Spring Festival No Suspension" campaign, Pinduoduo announced that YTO Express and J&T Express will serve as special logistics partners for the platform during the holiday, providing services to non-suspension merchants. Simultaneously, China Post, as Pinduoduo's exclusive comprehensive strategic partner, will also accept parcels normally during the holiday.
However, other online information suggests that companies in the "Tongda" group (like ZTO, YTO, STO, Best) generally begin reducing collection volumes or stopping acceptance around February 10 (the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month), only resuming basic operations around February 22 (the 6th day of the 1st lunar month). Inquiries made to headquarters personnel of some franchised express companies revealed that they all stated they would ensure customers' delivery and receipt needs during the holiday, advising to contact the sending outlet for specific service times and timeliness.
An industry insider admitted that while franchised companies' headquarters proclaim no suspension during the Spring Festival, a parcel passes through many transfer stations along its route. If the franchisee operating any one of these stations goes home for the holiday, the parcel can be stranded. Consumers with online shopping needs are advised to place orders early. To ensure staff return to posts and logistics operations resume normally after the holiday, companies also consciously incentivize frontline workers to stay on duty during the break, guaranteeing pickup and delivery services as a transitional measure.
