Stock News10-30

TVB (00511) announced that during the quarter (three months ended September 30, 2025), its free-to-air TV channels in Hong Kong maintained a leading position in viewership ratings. The group's flagship channel, Jade Channel, 24-hour TVB News Channel, and other channels collectively captured an 80% market share. Advertising revenue from its Hong Kong free-to-air channels continued to show year-on-year growth during the quarter.

Given the current business momentum and the anticipated boost from the highly awaited drama "The Queen of News 2," set to premiere in November 2025, the group expects even stronger performance in the fourth quarter of 2025. As a result, TVB reaffirms its expectation for full-year 2025 advertising revenue to exceed 2024 levels.

In its digital media business, the average monthly active users for all service tiers of the myTV SUPER streaming service remained stable at around 2 million during the quarter. Additionally, the group's other digital assets, including social media accounts and mobile apps, saw continued growth in followers and subscribers, increasing by over 20% compared to a year earlier. This contributed to a robust double-digit year-on-year growth in digital advertising revenue for the quarter.

TVB achieved a new milestone in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its content creation process. In September 2025, the group aired a short drama entirely created using AI, titled "In My Heart, You Are One of a Kind." The series was broadcast on TVB Plus, myTV SUPER, and Tencent Video in mainland China. One of the main characters, Hugo, was also selected by a major advertiser to feature in an upcoming TV commercial. AI has now become a core part of TVB's content creation toolkit, with plans to release more AI-generated series in the coming months.

During the quarter, TVB began filming "The War of Roses" and completed production of the highly anticipated "The Queen of News 2," which is now in post-production. The drama is scheduled to premiere on Youku in November 2025. Additionally, the group's co-produced dramas "Behind the Tower" and "Golden Forest" debuted on Youku and Tencent Video, respectively, during the quarter.

TVB reiterated its expectation for year-on-year growth in EBITDA and a return to positive net profit (attributable to shareholders) for the full year ending December 31, 2025.
