Leidos Holdings (LDOS) shares surged 5.50% in pre-market trading on Tuesday, as investors cheered the defense contractor's second-quarter results that handily topped Wall Street expectations on both the top and bottom lines.

The company reported Q2 adjusted earnings per share of $3.26, significantly beating the analyst consensus of $2.91 by over 12%. Revenue for the quarter reached $4.56 billion, up from $4.25 billion a year earlier and surpassing the $4.44 billion estimate. Net bookings for the quarter came in at a robust $4.9 billion, underscoring strong demand momentum.

Adding to the bullish sentiment, Leidos raised the lower end of its full-year 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $12.20 to $12.50, up from the prior $12.10 floor, with the midpoint above FactSet consensus of $12.33. The company also narrowed its annual revenue outlook to between $18.20 billion and $18.40 billion, the midpoint of which exceeded Wall Street's $18.24 billion estimate.
