RECONOVA's stock plummeted 17.36% during intraday trading on Wednesday, as the newly listed artificial intelligence company opened significantly below its initial public offering price.
The company, which completed its Hong Kong IPO with an offer price of HK$21.66 per share, opened at HK$18, representing an immediate discount that triggered the sharp decline. RECONOVA had raised approximately HK$529 million through its global offering, with its Hong Kong public offering portion oversubscribed by 3,646 times.
Market participants reacted to the opening price discrepancy, with the stock experiencing heavy selling pressure immediately after its market debut. The company's IPO had generated significant interest due to its positioning as a vision embodied AI company with applications in civil aviation, commercial spaces, and safe driving.
