Guangxi Launches First Cross-Border E-Commerce Truck Flight from Nanning-Guilin to Kuala Lumpur

Deep News04-05

A batch of cross-border e-commerce goods weighing approximately 1.3 tons was dispatched from Nanning Wuxu International Airport to Guilin on the morning of April 3, and subsequently flown from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, on the morning of April 4. This marks the official launch of Guangxi’s first cross-border e-commerce truck flight route connecting Nanning, Guilin, and Kuala Lumpur.

Compared to direct air freight, this cross-border e-commerce truck flight model allows for consolidated cargo and batch transportation, reducing shipping costs by 10% to 15% per kilogram and significantly cutting logistics expenses for e-commerce businesses. Li Yan, International Department Manager of Guangxi Civil Aviation Industry Development Co., Ltd., stated that by leveraging in-customs transit procedures, single declaration, and full-process supervision, customs clearance time has been shortened by 50% compared to out-of-customs transit. This enables same-day cargo consolidation, same-day customs transfer, and next-day loading for international departure.

The launch of this cross-border e-commerce truck flight facilitates coordinated use of cargo resources between the two airports, complementing their respective advantages. It further improves the layout of Guangxi’s cross-border e-commerce logistics network, helps local enterprises expand into Southeast Asian markets, and injects new momentum into the coordinated development of Guangxi’s airport economy and the establishment of a cross-border logistics hub.

Since the beginning of this year, Nanning Wuxu Airport Customs has continued to focus on the development needs of the cross-border e-commerce industry at the port, actively conducting enterprise visits and research, and continuously optimizing supervision and service models. In response to the characteristics of cross-border e-commerce goods transportation, the customs authority has refined clearance support measures and worked to resolve logistics bottlenecks, supporting the growth of this new business format. Moving forward, Nanning Wuxu Airport Customs will further deepen reforms to facilitate customs clearance, continuously optimize supervision processes, improve clearance efficiency, and fully support the increase in frequency of this cross-border e-commerce truck flight. The goal is to achieve regular and large-scale operation, contributing to the continuous improvement of Guangxi’s cross-border e-commerce logistics system and promoting higher-quality development of the region’s cross-border e-commerce industry and airport economy.
