Nanning Advances AI Applications with Strategic Initiatives

Deep News04-05

Since 2025, Nanning has actively developed its artificial intelligence industry by leveraging the China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Application Cooperation Center, known as the "Nanning AI Center." The city follows a development model described as "R&D in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou; integration in Guangxi (Nanning); and application across ASEAN nations." Currently, Nanning hosts 1,552 AI-related enterprises, forming a comprehensive industrial ecosystem that spans computing power, algorithms, and application scenarios.

The Nanning AI Center serves as a key platform for Guangxi to implement national AI development strategies and deepen cooperation in artificial intelligence between China and ASEAN. Over the past year, Nanning has accelerated the center's construction, aiming to establish itself as an AI hub oriented toward ASEAN markets. By the end of November last year, the center had secured 61 domestic AI projects and attracted 14 overseas enterprises to set up operations.

Nanning continues to promote the deep integration of digital and real economies, with AI empowerment strengthening industrial development. For instance, Nanning Industrial Investment Aluminum-Based New Material Group Co., Ltd. has incorporated AI and IoT technologies to optimize production processes, increasing the on-time delivery rate of aluminum foil products from 82% to 96%. Similarly, Jiejia Run Technology Group Co., Ltd.'s AI-based farm inspection system is not only used in local agricultural bases but also exported overseas, enabling "one person to manage a thousand-acre farm."

Artificial intelligence has also permeated various sectors in Nanning, including urban governance and public services. The "City Governance + AI" initiative uses AI heatmaps for real-time early warnings and rapid responses to shared e-bike congestion issues. The "Hui Qi Ming" application has helped raise the approval rate for enterprise name registrations and the success rate of initial business registrations to over 90%. Meanwhile, the "Nanning Cloud Hospital" platform has provided nearly 290,000 medical consultations, making healthcare services more accessible.

During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, Nanning plans to actively promote AI applications across diverse settings—such as streets, communities, households, government agencies, schools, hospitals, shopping malls, scenic spots, industrial parks, and enterprises—with the goal of building an AI super community within the China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Application Cooperation Center. The aim is to ensure that innovative achievements not only make breakthroughs in key technologies but also widely benefit daily life.
