Tesla Finalizes Optimus Gen3; Musk Sets Supplier Mass‑Production Redlines

MT Newswires Live19:18

Tesla has issued parts procurement guidance for Optimus, directing suppliers to reach 1,000 units/week capacity by September and 2,000–2,500 units/week by year‑end.

Suppliers say Tesla places orders about two months in advance and they have already received specific August orders for several hundred units. On that trajectory, suppliers expect to have capacity to supply parts for roughly 100,000 Optimus units annually by year‑end.

Tesla reviewed and approved the latest Optimus design at a late‑June executive meeting, indicating Optimus Gen3 will move from R&D into mass production after more than three years of development.
