Guangdong Launches "AI Training for Every Household" Initiative with Over 1,000 Courses
The "Yue Neng Xue—AI Training for Every Household" initiative was launched in Guangzhou on August 15. At the event, the "AI Cloud Academy" section of the "Yue Neng Xue" vocational skills lifelong learning platform went live, with the first batch of over 1,000 artificial intelligence course resources being uploaded simultaneously.
The "Yue Neng Xue" platform is a province-wide vocational skills lifelong learning platform created by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. The campaign, scheduled to run from August 2026 to January 2027, aims to achieve "1,000 courses, 1,000 activities, and 100,000 participants." This means a minimum of 1,000 high-quality AI-related courses will be continuously uploaded, at least 1,000 AI training activities will be held across the province, and efforts will be made to drive 1 million people to participate in AI skills learning and training.
The head of the Guangdong Provincial Vocational Training Bureau introduced the overall plan for the "Yue Neng Xue—AI Training for Every Household" initiative. Tang Shengzhang, Director of the Guangdong Provincial Vocational Training Bureau, stated that the province hopes to promote the popularization and shared access of AI knowledge and skills through this campaign, helping workers enhance their digital literacy and AI application capabilities, and facilitating high-quality full employment.
Currently, human resources and social security departments across Guangdong have taken proactive action. The province has launched the first batch of 200 offline AI-specific training courses, creating a multi-level AI skills learning system of "interest introduction, workplace application, and certification enhancement," covering learning needs from beginners to professional technicians. In Guangzhou, leveraging the "Yangcheng Skills Refueling Station" as the main training base, an innovative "residents order, stations dispatch, institutions accept" on-demand course allocation model has been implemented. A "one district, one feature" approach is used to offer courses, with park-based training, night school classes, and community outreach running simultaneously, bringing AI training to residents' doorsteps. In Shenzhen, a "15-minute skills service circle" has been established, launching a "Digital Skills Academy" with 60 free cutting-edge skills courses. Additionally, cities like Jiangmen, Zhuhai, and Foshan have also introduced specialized training programs, including AI trainer level training, AIGC short video creation, and AI agent applications.
The AI technology interactive experience exhibition held concurrently with the event was very popular. The exhibition featured lightweight, highly interactive AI experiences for diverse groups, including teenagers, professionals, and the general public, allowing them to experience the charm of AI up close. The AI workplace tools area gathered several leading AI companies, demonstrating cutting-edge applications such as AI text generation, intelligent document processing, and data visualization. The AIGC creative experience area showcased creative applications like AI trendy toys, AI animation production, intelligent audio and video generation, and real-time interaction with virtual digital humans.
