Key components of Dongfang Electric's impulse turbine hydropower units rolled off the production line in a concentrated manner, Guocheng Lithium's lithium salt project went into operation, and the hydrogen energy bus demonstration express line opened for operation... Since the beginning of this year, Deyang has adhered to the principle of prioritizing projects and focusing on practical results, with a series of major projects continuing to gain momentum and accelerate breakthroughs, the industrial development boom surging and momentum continuously gathering.
This industrial heavyweight city's industrial map is accelerating its shift from "single heavy equipment" to a pattern of "multi-pillar parallel development" encompassing the full clean energy equipment chain, new energy materials, and emerging tracks. The foundation of high-end equipment manufacturing is becoming increasingly solid. High-end equipment manufacturing requires looking at both complete machine products and supporting capabilities; both single-point breakthroughs and chain coordination. Deyang's industrial foundation is continuously being strengthened, and the advantage in complete machine assembly is accelerating its extension toward local supporting of core components.
On June 30, the full set of 6 impulse turbine unit nozzles for the Datang Zala Hydropower Station independently developed by Dongfang Electric and the brand-new impulse turbine runner for the Tiechanghe Hydropower Station rolled off the production line in a concentrated manner in Deyang, marking a new breakthrough in China's development of high-head, large-capacity impulse turbine hydropower units. On August 11, the rotor of the world's largest impulse turbine hydropower unit, developed and supplied by Dongfang Electric, was successfully hoisted into place at the Datang Zala Hydropower Station in Tibet, marking that China's key technologies for ultra-high-head, large-capacity impulse turbine hydropower equipment have ranked among the world's advanced levels. These achievements give "Made in Deyang" more confidence and also provide stronger leading-driven momentum for local supporting industries.
Beyond leading enterprise-driven development, supporting industries and clusters are also taking shape in parallel. In the Deyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Boda Electrical Equipment Production Base project will build 3 specialized production lines, focusing on core key components such as generator stators and coils. After production begins, it will further improve Deyang's clean energy equipment industrial chain and strengthen local supporting capabilities in hydropower, thermal power, wind power, and other fields. In the Deyang High-tech Zone, the Chengdu-Chongqing Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Industrial Park project is also under accelerated construction, with multiple new single-story and multi-story standardized factory buildings being built to introduce high-end intelligent manufacturing enterprises in aerospace, oil and gas equipment, auto parts, and other fields. In Guanghan, the Phase II project of the FAW Jiefang Guanghan Base will build a new intelligent spare parts center, introduce new energy intelligent connected products, set up a new energy mixed-flow production line, and support smart logistics warehouses. At that time, it will achieve parallel development of three technical routes—pure electric, hybrid, and fuel cell—allowing "Made in Deyang" commercial vehicles to enter nearly 30 provinces and cities across the country. Deyang's high-end equipment manufacturing chain is being filled in section by section and strengthened link by link.
Strengthening the chain and filling gaps, industrial clustering. The new energy materials industry ecosystem is accelerating its formation. Looking upstream from equipment manufacturing, Deyang is relying on the De'a Industrial Park to open up key links in the lithium battery materials industrial chain. In July of this year, Phase I of Sichuan Guocheng Lithium's 200,000-ton-per-year lithium salt project was officially put into production in the De'a Industrial Park, with a production line for 60,000 tons per year of battery-grade lithium carbonate fully launched. The project adopts the industry-leading low-carbon purification process, equipped with waste heat recovery, intelligent control, and full-process environmental governance systems. Its products will be widely used in power batteries, energy storage, high-end electronic materials, and other fields. According to the plan, after the project is fully completed, total annual production capacity will reach 200,000 tons, making it a leading single-site lithium salt production base in China, effectively filling the gap in upstream raw materials for lithium batteries in the southwestern region and playing an important role in ensuring the security and stability of the lithium battery industrial chain and supply chain.
In September, the first batch of products from Zone B of the 350,000-ton-per-year new energy lithium battery cathode material project of Sichuan Fulin New Materials Co., Ltd., also located in the De'a Industrial Park, rolled off the production line. It is understood that after reaching full production, the project will produce 350,000 tons per year of new high-compaction lithium iron phosphate, which can be used in power battery manufacturing for approximately 1.4 million pure electric sedans. From lithium salt to cathode materials, the chain is extending, and circulation within the park is also being opened up. Relying on the resource and industrial advantages of the De'a Industrial Park and its circular economy foundation, the park is making every effort to promote coupled development of upstream and downstream enterprises, deepening cooperation in by-product utilization, technology research and development, and other areas, jointly creating a safe, efficient, and green lithium battery materials industry ecosystem, and further promoting the park's "sulfur-phosphorus-lithium" circular economy industrial clustering and momentum for upward leaps.
Hydrogen buses on the road, drones in the sky. Emerging industries are moving from blueprints to reality. As equipment manufacturing and materials industries accelerate along existing tracks, emerging tracks are also completing the transformation from "planning drawings" to "real-life scenes."
Hydrogen energy is one of the tracks closest to citizens. On June 26, Deyang Bus K1 hydrogen energy demonstration express line officially opened for operation, deploying 10 hydrogen energy buses of the 10.7-meter class across the entire line. The route is 18 kilometers long with 22 stations, seamlessly connecting the Chengbei Railway Station bus hub, urban commercial districts, residential clusters, and the core area of the southern part of the city, precisely covering diverse travel scenarios such as commuting, schooling, and leisure for citizens. As of the end of August, the line has operated smoothly and orderly with consistently high-quality service, continuously demonstrating its convenience benefits and earning widespread recognition and praise from citizens.

Progress on the low-altitude economy track is even more "hardcore." In Shifang High-tech Zone (North Zone), the AVIC Zhi tilt-rotor drone project (Phase II) is accelerating. The project's main product, the "Lanying R6000," is a key model of the United Aircraft Group featuring "Chengdu research and development, Deyang Shifang manufacturing." According to Su Liangjun, production manager of Shifang Lianfei Technology: "At present, the main construction of the Phase II project has been completed, and aircraft units 03 to 05 are in final assembly, expected to roll off the line before December." From main construction completion to complete aircraft assembly, the low-altitude economy industry is landing and taking shape step by step in Deyang.
Looking to the future, Deyang will root its industrial foundation deeper, strengthen its chain further, and gather more momentum, demonstrating greater achievements in serving national energy security and industrial chain and supply chain security, allowing "Made in Deyang" to gather momentum and soar in the overall situation of high-quality development.
