As part of the 2026 Lean Digital Innovation Conference and Lean Digital Transformation Innovation Ecosystem Expo, the event took place from September 5th to 7th at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Tianjin. Liu Mingzhong, First Vice President of the China Enterprise Reform and Development Research Association and former Party Secretary and Chairman of China First Heavy Industries Group Co., Ltd., attended and delivered a speech.

Liu emphasized that the 15th Five-Year Plan period marks a critical five-year phase as China advances on its new journey toward building a modern socialist country in all respects and strives toward the second centenary goal. He noted it also represents a pivotal stage for accelerating the construction of a manufacturing powerhouse, advancing new industrialization, and fostering the growth of new quality productive forces.

In his view, manufacturing enterprises in this new era must firmly grasp the essential requirements of high-quality development and proactively take responsibility in deepening the integration of artificial intelligence with lean management. "We should leverage AI as the engine to accelerate intelligent transformation across R&D, production, supply chain, and service operations, while using lean principles as the foundation to continuously strengthen management infrastructure, enhance operational efficiency, and reinforce enterprises' leading role in technological innovation, management reform, and commercialization of achievements. It is essential to forge a path of corporate strengthening driven by AI and built on lean practices, making due contributions to accelerate the development of new quality productive forces," he stated.
