Hong Kong Stocks Open Higher with Tech and Gold Sectors in Focus

Major US stock indices closed slightly lower overnight, with the Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq falling by 0.01%, 0.14%, and 0.57%, respectively.

In Hong Kong, the three primary indices opened higher on Tuesday. The Hang Seng Index started the day up 0.3% at 24,966.53 points. The Hang Seng Tech Index gained 0.2%, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index rose by 0.19%.

Key Market Movements at the Open

Technology stocks presented a mixed picture. Lenovo Group Ltd (HKEX: 0992) saw its shares rise over 3%, whereas Xiaomi Corp (HKEX: 1810) shares fell more than 1%.

Shares of printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturers opened notably higher, with Shengyi Technology Co Ltd (HKEX: 600183) advancing over 4%.

The gold sector experienced broad-based gains, with Lingbao Gold Group Ltd (HKEX: 3330) climbing more than 4%.

Biopharmaceutical stocks also showed activity, as AKESO Inc (HKEX: 9926) increased by over 2%.
