Industrial Ministry Intensifies Scrutiny, Inspecting Multiple Automakers Amid Regulatory Crackdown

Deep News08-01

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has recently conducted product safety assurance and production consistency inspections on several automakers, including Chery, NIO, JAC, GAC Aion, and XPeng.

This initiative is a systematic, industry-wide "census" targeting the safety assurance capabilities of intelligent connected vehicles, their design and development processes, and production consistency. Random samples have been collected and sent for testing.

The MIIT has emphasized it will strengthen access reviews, testing verification, and risk assessment, urging companies to uphold safety standards and protect consumer rights, demonstrating a firm commitment to advancing the high-quality development of the automotive sector.
