Recently, the Global Sustainable Transport Forum (2026), hosted by the Ministry of Transport and organized by the China International Sustainable Transport Innovation and Knowledge Center, was held in Beijing. At the event, the "Global Sustainable Transport Best Practices 2026" was released, and DiDi Global Inc. (NYSE: DIDIY)'s 99 platform was selected for its practices in advancing Brazil's sustainable transport transformation.

This year marks the opening year of the "United Nations Decade of Sustainable Transport (2026–2035)" plan. The release of Global Sustainable Transport Best Practices has been incorporated into the United Nations Sustainable Transport Action Initiative. A total of 36 cases were released at this event, covering 27 countries and regions across six continents, and 99's practice was the only case from an internet mobility platform selected this year. The case collection noted that the cases of DiDi and 99 "promote low-carbon development through new energy solutions, expand employment opportunities through industry collaboration, respond to the mobility challenges faced by developing economies, and lay a solid foundation for Brazil to build a safer, more efficient, low-carbon, inclusive, and resilient urban transport system."

Li Chen, Senior Director of International Business at DiDi, shared on-site the practices of DiDi in promoting Brazil's sustainable mobility transformation based on China's experience. He stated: "Sustainable transport is a common challenge for the world. The electrification and digitalization experience DiDi has accumulated in China is taking root in overseas markets such as Brazil. This recognition is an acknowledgment of the replicability of the 'China solution,' and DiDi will continue to work with global partners to bring green mobility benefits to more cities."

99 was originally a local Brazilian mobility platform and later gradually expanded into services such as food delivery and finance. Its business currently covers 4,400 cities and towns of various sizes in Brazil, with more than 1 million ride-hailing drivers. On the mobility side, 99 continues to promote the electrification of local ride-hailing vehicles. In 2022, 99 led the establishment of the "Brazil Sustainable Mobility Alliance," which has now attracted more than 30 Chinese and Brazilian companies to join, covering fields such as automobile manufacturing, energy, charging facilities, finance, and car leasing, jointly promoting ecosystem development in vehicle supply, charging networks, and financial services. To date, the alliance has driven more than 410 million reais (approximately 530 million yuan) in direct investment related to sustainable development from member companies and built 5,000 charging piles. The 99 platform has completed approximately 65 million electric vehicle mobility orders, cumulatively reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 72,000 tons, effectively advancing Brazil's green transport transformation.

With the joint efforts of upstream and downstream players in the industrial chain, the electrification of ride-hailing vehicles in Brazil has been accelerating. Over the past four years, the number of pure electric vehicles on the 99 platform has increased from fewer than 100 to more than 36,000. 99 also plans to promote the registration and operation of more than 300,000 new energy vehicles in Brazil over the next five years. Li Chen said that as usage costs decline, model choices increase, and supporting facilities such as charging continue to improve, more and more drivers are beginning to proactively choose new energy vehicles.

In August this year, 99 signed a cooperation agreement with Brazilian car leasing company Movida. The two parties announced the launch of a preferential leasing plan that includes new energy vehicles for ride-hailing drivers on the 99 platform, expected to benefit at least 50,000 drivers over the next three years. This cooperation will further lower the threshold for new energy vehicles to enter Brazil's ride-hailing operation scenarios and continue to explore new models for the coordinated overseas expansion of China's new energy industry chain.

In addition to green mobility, this case collection also recognized 99's efforts in improving travel safety and creating jobs in the areas where it operates. The case collection noted that 99 has created more than 1.5 million flexible employment positions in Brazil, providing local residents with more flexible employment options. In areas where public transport services are relatively insufficient, 99 also supplements local transport supply through a variety of mobility services and explores applying platform capabilities to livelihood scenarios such as medical travel. DiDi's international business currently covers 14 countries and regions in Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Africa, providing local users with mobility, food delivery, and digital banking services, serving more than 100 million users.
