On April 6, coinciding with the 130th anniversary of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and CEO of LENOVO GROUP and a 1981 computer science alumnus of the university, announced a personal donation of 200 million yuan to his alma mater. The funds will support the renovation of Building 3 on the Xuhui campus, which will be repurposed to advance scientific research and talent development in the field of artificial intelligence following the upgrade.
In parallel, LENOVO GROUP and Shanghai Jiao Tong University announced an expansion of their strategic partnership. Over the next five years, LENOVO GROUP will invest an additional 300 million yuan to deepen collaboration in areas including artificial intelligence, encompassing joint research initiatives, talent cultivation, and technology investment and incubation.
