According to reports from Beijing, the Beijing Information Optical Electronics Chip Platform has officially commenced production operations in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. This marks the addition of another domestically controlled, specialized mass production line for high-speed optical chips in China. It effectively establishes a complete chain encompassing the R&D, pilot-scale testing, and mass production of high-end optical chips, addressing a critical domestic shortfall in the manufacturing of high-speed optical interconnects.
The platform is now entering a new phase focused on process optimization, sample trial production, and batch verification. It aims to progressively achieve small to medium-scale independent production of high-speed optical chips, thereby continuously reducing the industry's reliance on imports. This development provides solid support for the high-quality advancement of Beijing's optoelectronic chip industry.
Currently, the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area has gathered over 400 companies related to the integrated circuit industry. It has formed a comprehensive industrial chain covering design, manufacturing, packaging and testing, equipment, and components. This ecosystem is led by key players such as Naura Technology Group Co.,Ltd. (SZ: 002371), Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SH: 688981), and ChangXin Memory Technologies.
Moving forward, the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area will leverage its existing industrial cluster advantages to further enhance the supporting ecosystem of the industrial chain. It will strengthen the provision of key elements such as policies, funding, and talent. These efforts will support the Beijing Information Optical Electronics Chip Platform in accelerating the conversion of technological achievements and the release of production capacity, contributing "Yizhuang's strength" to the independent innovation of China's integrated circuit industry.
