On October 30, former brokerage chief economist Li Daxiao shared his latest assessment of the current market during a livestream. He pointed out that some core global markets have stabilized through "self-rescue" efforts, and amid the current AI investment frenzy, he called on the market to focus on the balance between financing and attracting capital.
"Every capable listed company should save itself." Li Daxiao cited overseas markets as examples to propose a market rescue path: "Samsung, SK Hynix, Hyundai, and Samsung Electro-Mechanics stepped in to save themselves, and the Korean market stabilized. Then Japan rescued itself, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index saved itself." He directed his criticism at the overly rapid financing expansion in the US stock market's AI sector, stating bluntly that the industry needs moderate cooling.
"The US should not pursue hundred-billion-level financing for AI large models. Can it slow down a bit? OpenAI should not go public so quickly." In his view, only by properly balancing the pace of attracting capital and the pace of financing can the capital market emerge from volatility and return to stability.
