Market Focus07-20

On July 20, Hansoh Pharmaceutical rose 3.08% in regular trading, trading at HK$32.62/share, with turnover of approximately HK$81.25 million. The broader pharmaceutical sector strengthened in tandem, with multiple heavyweight names posting gains.

The rally comes amid a confluence of recent catalysts. On July 14, Hansoh announced that its invested company Avere Therapeutics signed a merger agreement with Nasdaq-listed NextCure, through which Hansoh's oral IL-23 receptor antagonist HS-20118 gained a global exclusive license pathway with up to US$1.2 billion in upfront payments and US$2.18 billion in milestone payments. Hansoh is expected to hold 30%-40% of the merged entity. Additionally, on July 10, the company reported that its B7-H3-targeted ADC HS-20093 achieved the primary endpoint of overall survival in a pivotal Phase III trial for small cell lung cancer, marking it as the first B7-H3 ADC globally to demonstrate OS benefit in a Phase III study.

Within the Pharmaceuticals sector, CSPC Pharma rose 3.46%, Asymchem gained 2.9%, Hengrui Pharma advanced 2.91%, Sunshine Pharma climbed 5.64%, and SBP Group added 2.41%.
