Nanjing Port's Fertilizer Exports Reach Record Highs as Border Inspection Agency Ensures Efficient Customs Clearance

Deep News10-23

On the morning of October 22, two foreign vessels loaded with domestic fertilizers departed from Jiangsu's Nanjing Longtan Port. Shortly after, the "Queen" vessel slowly docked at the port to load 55,000 tons of fertilizer for export to Brazil. The Nanjing Port Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station has launched a “fast track for fertilizer customs clearance,” effectively facilitating fertilizer exports totaling 3.5 million tons this year, setting a recent record and contributing to global agricultural production with Chinese strength.

As a highly accessible transit port for foreign trade in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Nanjing Port serves as a hub for fertilizer transshipment from various regions across the country. To cope with the continuously growing export volume and ensure fertilizers reach overseas markets in a timely and efficient manner, the Nanjing Port Border Inspection Station has deeply implemented reforms in immigration management services. It has innovated and optimized customs inspection processes, proactively connected with terminal companies and agencies, and established an information-sharing mechanism to keep abreast of vessel movements and operational plans. The station has innovatively implemented “one ship, one plan” inspection strategies to achieve precise scheduling.

In terms of specific operations, the station has optimized customs services to minimize clearance times. This ensures "zero waiting" for vessels transporting exported fertilizers upon arrival and "zero delay" during departure inspections, facilitating the swift entry and exit of cargo ships and assisting in the rapid export of "Made in China" goods. While enhancing efficiency, the station has simultaneously strengthened port control through a comprehensive monitoring system consisting of "personnel patrols, vehicle patrols, boat patrols, dog patrols, and drone surveillance," creating an efficient, safe, and smooth business environment for fertilizer exports.
