According to media reports, SERES is set to collaborate with ByteDance's Volcano Engine to introduce a new automotive brand, with an expected launch in June this year. As of the time of reporting, neither SERES nor ByteDance has responded to inquiries regarding this matter.
Recently, SERES' subsidiary, Chongqing Landian Technology Co., Ltd., was renamed Chongqing Saidou Technology Co., Ltd. The new energy vehicle investment platform Shaci Zhiyuan, led by the Shaxing Group, completed an investment of 3.43 billion yuan in Chongqing Landian Technology Co., Ltd. Other industrial investors participating in the investment include Wending Investment under CATL, Jiangsu Bojun Technology, and Changzhou Xingyu.
Relevant sources indicated that the renaming of Landian Technology to Saidou Technology marks a new phase in the restructuring and transformation of the Landian automotive business, jointly promoted by the Shapingba District and the SERES Group. In the future, Saidou Technology will seize the strategic opportunity presented by the deep integration of the automotive industry and artificial intelligence, focusing on the intelligent connected new energy passenger vehicle sector to build differentiated competitive advantages and accelerate the development of a trillion-yuan new energy vehicle industry cluster in Shapingba District.
Media reports suggest that the renamed Saidou Technology will serve as the legal entity for SERES' new automotive brand. The new brand is positioned as youthful and sporty, with a planned launch in June, featuring deep collaboration between SERES and ByteDance's Volcano Engine. SERES has already assembled teams for market and channel development.
During the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Volcano Engine launched a new generation of automotive AI solutions based on the Agentic AI architecture, including the AI cockpit suite solution and the Doubao cockpit assistant solution. Data released by Volcano Engine at the time showed that intelligent vehicles equipped with the Doubao large model have exceeded 7 million units, covering over 50 automotive brands and 145 vehicle models.
