Dajin Heavy Industry Co.,Ltd. (01081) saw its shares jump more than 10% in Hong Kong trading on Wednesday, underscoring renewed investor optimism driven by structural tailwinds in the European offshore wind market and the company's strategic push into shipping logistics. At the time of writing, the stock was up 10.83% at HK$33.76, with turnover reaching HK$97.86 million.
According to the latest analysis from Norwegian consultancy Rystad Energy, Europe's offshore wind expansion is confronting significant supply-side bottlenecks. Since 2020, the average selling price of offshore wind turbines (calculated on a per-megawatt basis) has climbed by 40%–45%, far outpacing the 20%–25% rise in manufacturing costs over the same period. This pricing power reflects a tight supply chain, a scenario that benefits integrated players like Dajin Heavy Industry.
Adding to the positive momentum, Dajin Heavy Industry's self-owned transport fleet has officially commenced operations, marking the company's entry into the mainstream vessel construction market. Since securing its first order in August 2025, the company has accumulated a total of 24 new shipbuilding contracts, with an aggregate contract value of approximately RMB 12 billion. This diversification moves the firm beyond its traditional manufacturing base into high-value maritime logistics and construction.
Analysts at Huaxi Securities note that Dajin Heavy Industry is well-positioned to benefit from the accelerating development of European offshore wind projects. As multiple rounds of upcoming wind tenders are released across the region, the company's overseas business growth potential is expected to expand further. With the gradual deployment of its proprietary fleet, the full upgrade of export-oriented offshore engineering capacity, and the continuous improvement of its overseas home-port network—combined with a growing focus on commercial and offshore engineering vessel building—the company's competitive moat is evolving from a single-dimension manufacturing capability into a fully integrated "manufacturing + transportation + delivery" chain.
