Bhd., in consortium with a joint venture partner (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samaiden Group Berhad, a company listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad under stock code 0223), received a notification letter from the Energy Commission of Malaysia in September 2025. The letter confirmed the consortium's selection as a shortlisted bidder to develop a 99.99MWac large-scale solar photovoltaic power plant in Segamat, Johor, Malaysia. The plant is scheduled to commence commercial operations by February 29, 2028. The joint venture company will enter into a 21-year solar power purchase agreement with Tenaga Nasional Berhad to supply electricity generated by the plant.
On November 18, 2025 (after Hong Kong Stock Exchange trading hours), JBB Builders (M) Sdn. Bhd. and the joint venture partner signed an agreement to establish a joint venture for the project. Under the consortium arrangement, JBB Builders (M) Sdn. Bhd. is expected to contribute up to MYR 65 million in capital, with each party's investment proportional to their equity stake.
The joint venture will integrate the resources and expertise of JBB Builders (M) Sdn. This collaboration is expected to enhance the group's overall competitiveness.
Participation in this renewable energy project will further diversify and strengthen the company's investment portfolio, attracting international investors and sustainability-focused partners. It also aligns with Malaysia's national commitment to reducing carbon emissions, enhancing corporate social responsibility, and improving the company's reputation among environmentally conscious stakeholders and customers.
