Burford Capital Ltd. (BUR) saw its stock price plummet 10.54% during intraday trading on Thursday.
The sharp decline followed the company's release of its fourth-quarter and full-year 2025 financial results, which revealed a wider net loss and a significant drop in revenue. Burford reported a Q4 loss of $0.17 per diluted share, compared to a loss of $0.06 per share in the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter was $44.6 million, a decrease from $65.7 million a year earlier and well below analyst expectations of $179.1 million.
Company management cited extended case durations and other unrealized fair value adjustments as factors negatively impacting the results, despite noting a 39% increase in new business commitments for the year.
