On November 20, CITIC Bank announced plans to activate an overseas online security lock for certain customers. Starting November 22, 2025, the bank will implement this measure based on the overseas transaction activity of accounts. Once enabled, affected accounts will be restricted from conducting overseas online transactions.
Customers with activated security locks who require overseas transactions can disable the feature at any time via the mobile banking app under "My Account - Security Center - Account Security Lock" by selecting the corresponding card. This will allow them to proceed with overseas online payments.
