On October 19, the 2026 Financial Street Forum Annual Meeting officially opened in Beijing under the theme "Openness, Cooperation and Inclusiveness 鈥?Jointly Building a New Ecosystem for Global Financial Development." Wu Qing, Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.
Wu Qing stated that as once-in-a-century changes accelerate and a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation flourishes, the world's political and economic landscape and financial ecosystem are facing deep adjustment and reshaping, exerting increasingly broad and profound impacts on capital markets.
He noted that geopolitical conflicts are pushing up global risk premiums, a more complex interest rate environment is driving asset repricing and rebalancing, and Artificial Intelligence is accelerating market transformation. Global market linkages and resonance have notably intensified, with volatility and interconnectedness rising across equity, bond and foreign exchange markets. The cross-border, cross-market and cross-industry transmission of risks warrants heightened vigilance.
