Beijing Regulators Launch Probes into Major Online Travel and Accommodation Platforms

Beijing's market regulatory authority has initiated formal investigations into four prominent online travel and accommodation companies, according to an official announcement made today.

The Beijing Municipal Market Supervision Administration revealed that it has filed cases against Hangzhou Taomei Aviation Service Co., Ltd., Tongcheng Network Technology Co., Ltd., Tujia Online Information Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., and Beijing Sankuai Information Technology Co., Ltd..

These actions follow preliminary verifications conducted under the directives of the State Administration for Market Regulation, with the probes being carried out in accordance with China's Anti-Unfair Competition Law and E-Commerce Law, among other relevant regulations.

The companies under investigation operate well-known platforms including Fliggy, Tongcheng Travel, Tujia, and Meituan, with the regulator citing suspected violations of current legal provisions.
