(Reference: Dan Bin's Q2 US stock holdings underwent a major overhaul, with market value increasing by over 45%, heavily increasing positions in AI hardware!) On August 18, Dan Bin, founder of Eastern Bell, posted that he had bought SpaceX. He stated: This is the beginning of my strategic layout in SpaceX. If one believes that human civilization must continue outward and move toward the stars, companies like SpaceX represent the future of humanity. In addition, Oriental Harbor Investment Fund significantly increased positions in Meta and Amazon in the third quarter, slightly increased positions in NVIDIA, Alphabet-C, Micron Technology, SanDisk, and TSMC; reduced positions in Intel, Lumentum Holdings Inc, Advanced Micro Devices, Broadcom, and others.

Dan Bin: With Truly Excellent Companies, Patiently Wait for Time to Deliver

The investment philosophy of Dan Bin and Eastern Bell is dedicated to investing in "companies that change the world" and "companies that are not changed by the world." In his early years, he became famous for successfully investing in Tencent Holdings and Kweichow Moutai; later he heavily invested in Tesla; since 2023, Eastern Bell's investment focus has shifted to the AI industry chain, focusing on US AI giants. Therefore, in recent years, Eastern Bell's investment focus has been on investing in "companies that change the world." Dan Bin pointed out that many people have a stereotype about value investing, thinking that value investing can only stick to traditional consumer sectors. Buffett heavily invested in Coca-Cola in his early years and also heavily bought Apple and Alphabet in his later years. True value investing is not about stubbornly adhering to old sector dogmas like carving a mark on a boat to find a sword, but about tracking industrial changes and anchoring on companies' real fundamentals and the dividends of the times. In an interview in the third quarter, Dan Bin pointed out: Investing is about who can see farther, see more accurately, dare to take heavy positions, and persist. Regarding the adjustment in the AI sector, Dan Bin believes that artificial intelligence is a 10-year long bull market, and there will certainly be adjustments along the way, advancing in a tortuous manner; lows encountered during short-term challenges are often good buying points. Dan Bin emphasized that true long-term investment values seeing through fluctuations to the essence. There is no need to be anxious about routine annual drawdowns; instead, they should be viewed as good opportunities to deploy high-quality assets. Ignoring short-term disturbances and sticking to the core main line of the AI revolution—this composure to resist noise is precisely the key to traversing cycles and grasping the dividends of the times. In addition to the overseas fund's heavy positions in US AI tech stocks, Eastern Bell's domestic products are also vigorously positioning in the AI sector. Dan Bin once posted that Eastern Bell started its layout in the domestic A-share AI industry chain relatively late. Regarding the adjustment of A-share tech stocks, on October 22, Dan Bin posted: The market is so impermanent; the coming and going of sentiment and the flow of funds drive the index to repeatedly cycle. Many times, the reversal of the market will wear away the patience of most people. But for value investors, the index returning to a past position does not mean that the value of enterprises remains in place. Over these two years, excellent companies have continued to operate, create profits, and accumulate assets, and their intrinsic value has been growing forward. Prices swinging back and forth around value is exactly the most common appearance of the market. Cycles repeat, and the noise will eventually dissipate. What we need to do is still to see through the fog of prices, anchor on fundamentals, and together with truly excellent companies, patiently wait for time to deliver.
