Iflytek's Zhang Yongliang: The Biggest Mistake in Enterprise AI is Scrapping Existing Systems

Deep News01-15

The "2025 Tech Wind List" annual ceremony was held in Beijing on January 15, 2026, with this year's theme being "Ignite New Intelligence, Embark on a New Journey."

Participants in the roundtable discussion on "The New Paradigm of Agent Collaboration" included Liu Zhi, CTO of KCR International; Yu Youping, President of ZGC King; Zhang Yongliang, CTO of the Enterprise Digital Business Group at Iflytek Co.,Ltd.; and Shan Ze, Head of the 1688 AI Lab.

Zhang Yongliang stated that the principles of AI Agent can be summarized into two points. First, it is crucial to identify the right application scenarios—whether in education, finance, healthcare, or other fields. The key is to find areas where efficiency needs improvement or where there is a significant amount of repetitive work, and then focus deeply on addressing these issues.

He emphasized that the most important aspect of an AI tool is its effectiveness, which must be validated and substantiated through data. "When targeting the enterprise sector, the biggest mistake is to completely scrap the existing system. By leveraging agent technology and integrating with upstream and downstream interfaces or tool invocations, the ideal approach is to seamlessly integrate, thereby improving efficiency while avoiding the high costs associated with rebuilding systems from scratch," he concluded.
