On February 5, Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, published a post introducing the "ice and snow trials." He mentioned that the -39°C winter testing challenged five typical harsh scenarios: icy roads, emergency obstacle avoidance, mixed ice/snow/asphalt roads, 75 km/h emergency braking, continuous turning, and jump landing. These tests comprehensively verified the vehicle's reliability under extreme conditions, ensuring greater peace of mind for everyday driving.
He further noted that he had personally participated in several winter tests and experienced firsthand the challenges of evaluating vehicle stability in such frigid environments. "It's incredibly demanding for engineers to work in such extreme cold, often on assignments lasting months at a time. That’s why I’ve instructed our R&D leads to be on the front lines, take part in the testing, and ensure proper safety and logistical support," he added.
In closing, Lei Jun paid tribute to all automotive engineers across the industry involved in winter testing, stating, "Every one of them is an unsung hero of the automotive industry!"
