Movement Alert|Innoscience Rises 3.68% in Regular Trading, Infineon Forced to Remove Infringing GaN Products at Shanghai Exhibition

Market Focus07-03

On July 3, Innoscience (02577.HK) rose 3.68% in regular trading, trading at HK$60.45/share with turnover of HK$156 million, rebounding after the previous session's sector-wide selloff.

The movement follows a significant intellectual property development. German semiconductor giant Infineon was forced to remove specific gallium nitride (GaN) products from its booth at the Munich Shanghai Electronics Exhibition on July 1, after Innoscience flagged that the exhibited products were covered by a Chinese court injunction. The Suzhou Intermediate People's Court had previously ruled in May that Infineon infringed two of Innoscience's core GaN invention patents, ordering Infineon to cease sales, offers for sale, and imports of the infringing CoolGaN series products, while awarding RMB 10 million in damages. The Supreme People's Court subsequently upheld the injunction upon Infineon's appeal for reconsideration.

Innoscience is the sole Chinese supplier in NVIDIA's 800V HVDC system for next-generation AI data centers, and its 8-inch GaN wafer line has expanded monthly capacity to 20,000 wafers. The patent enforcement against a global competitor reinforces Innoscience's market position in the rapidly growing GaN power semiconductor space.
