Q Technology (Group) Company Limited reported a continued rebound in its optoelectronic component business, with May 2026 data showing solid gains in camera modules and persistent weakness in biometric sensors. All volumes are presented on a finished-unit basis and remain unaudited.
The Group shipped 47.48 million camera modules and LiDAR units in May, up 8.0% month-on-month (MoM) and 40.0% year-on-year (YoY). Within mobile-phone camera modules, volume reached 45.14 million units, driven by a 75.2% YoY jump in sub-32-megapixel products to 27.74 million units. High-resolution (32 MP and above) modules rose 5.2% YoY to 17.40 million units. Management attributed the growth to increased allocation from multiple core customers, including overseas handset makers, alongside rising demand for Internet-of-Things and smart-vehicle applications.
Biological recognition modules recorded 13.81 million units, down 16.6% MoM and 9.42% YoY. The breakdown shows divergent trends: capacitive modules fell 25.5% MoM but still advanced 37.4% YoY; under-glass modules edged up 4.0% MoM yet shrank 37.9% YoY; ultrasonic modules declined on both metrics. The company cited subdued smartphone demand amid higher memory prices as the primary drag.
For the January-to-May period, total shipments stood at: • Mobile-phone camera modules: 199.54 million units • Camera modules & LiDAR for other fields: 10.53 million units • Biological recognition modules: 74.99 million units
Kunshan Q Tech Microelectronics (India) Private Limited, the Group’s joint venture, posted robust growth in May. Camera-module shipments reached 9.48 million units, soaring 112.2% MoM and 241.3% YoY. Biometric-module volume came in at 1.71 million units, down 10.9% MoM and 3.6% YoY.
Management emphasized that the disclosed figures reflect shipment volumes rather than revenue or profit and remain subject to potential adjustments following audit review. Shareholders and investors are urged to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s securities.
