NIO's William Li: Survival Hinges on 3-5 Point Margin, Team Operates with Zero Downtime

Deep News04-24 20:41

On the evening of April 24, at the opening of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, NIO Inc. founder and chairman William Li spoke with media following the company's press conference.

Li stated that the difference between the best-performing companies, those barely surviving, and those failing essentially comes down to a 3 to 5 percentage point gap. He emphasized that to survive the intense final competitive stage and win user recognition, the entire team cannot afford to pause for even a minute.

Li further commented that NIO Inc.'s systemic advantages have indeed enabled it to maintain a growth rate higher than the industry average since the second half of last year. However, he noted that competitors are catching up rapidly. While NIO Inc. initially expected to lead in features like a large front trunk for perhaps one to two years, maintaining a one-year lead is now considered a significant achievement. Despite this, Li expressed continued confidence in NIO Inc.'s own systemic capabilities.
