The 2026 Shijiazhuang "Rap Battle Peak Showdown · Super Strawberry Music Festival" is set to take place from September 25 to 27 during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday at the Hutuo River Art Eco Island.
Tickets will go on sale across all platforms at 1 PM on September 4. This marks the first time the Super Strawberry Music Festival has ever been held in Shijiazhuang, bringing together 36 domestic and international musicians who will perform across the Strawberry Stage and the Love Stage.
Over three consecutive days of performances, the festival will showcase a diverse musical spectrum ranging from international avant-garde sounds and Chinese rock to hip-hop, pop, and independent singer-songwriter acts, creating a unique urban music scene for the holiday period.
Where the journey begins
In recent years, Shijiazhuang has prioritized cultural development as a key pillar of its urban growth strategy. Leveraging its deep-rooted rock music heritage, the city has adopted music as a defining symbol to shape its urban identity and attract visitors. From the local musicians who contributed to the evolution of Chinese rock to the now-ubiquitous performances weaving through neighborhoods, commercial districts, and public cultural venues, music is increasingly becoming an integral part of residents' daily lives. The inaugural arrival of the Super Strawberry Festival in Shijiazhuang marks yet another significant milestone in this citywide cultural initiative.
Three distinct musical vibes across the festival
Each of the three festival days will feature a distinct musical and cultural atmosphere. On September 25, the focus will be on rock and independent music, with German experimental band Einstürzende Neubauten, UK acts The Vaccines and The Cribs, sharing the stage alongside Chinese artists including Miserable Faith, Second Hand Rose, Escape Plan, Accusefive, and Landlord's Cat.
September 26 will spotlight a hip-hop special curated in collaboration with the television program "Rap Battle Peak Showdown 2026." This special segment will bring together pioneers of Chinese-language rap alongside emerging talents, offering a comprehensive overview of the genre's generational evolution over the past decade.
September 27 rounds out the festival with a diverse blend of pop and independent music, featuring performers such as Tiger Hu, Lala Hsu, Kenji Wu, 宝石Gem, along with bands and electronic artists like Summer Invasion Scheme and Mosaic, all taking the stage together.
Beyond a typical lineup
These three days of contrasting musical styles and cultural expressions collectively define this year's Shijiazhuang Super Strawberry event, setting its content structure apart from conventional festival lineups. For music fans, the experience transforms from simply "traveling to a city for a single performance" to "carrying lasting memories of a city forged through a live show." Using the music festival as a catalyst, the event aims to stimulate the holiday economy and boost cultural tourism consumption, serving as a strategic driver for Shijiazhuang's integrated development of culture and tourism. The festival is expected to generate spending across the entire supply chain, impacting transportation, accommodation, dining, retail, and local attractions. The hosting venue, the Hutuo River Art Eco Island, is now also being woven into the city's leisure and cultural tourism landscape. Covering approximately 1512 mu, the island is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Shijiazhuang. With its scenic riverside setting, the island offers a wide range of amenities, including technology experiences, water-based leisure activities, family-friendly playgrounds, camping and resort options, boutique guesthouses, and a professional karting track. Its expansive and versatile grounds have already hosted numerous events such as fitness walks, large-scale music festivals, marathons, and cycling races. On August 15-16 this year, the island welcomed the 2026 CKC China Karting Championship Shijiazhuang leg, marking the first time this national A-level event has been held in Hebei Province.
