Advanced Semiconductor Materials Firm Sees 5% Intraday Surge on Optimism for Larger Silicon Carbide Substrate Growth

Stock News07-07

Shares of SICC (HKEX: 02631) climbed more than 5% during the trading session.

By the latest update, the stock was up 3.54% to HK$82, with a turnover exceeding HK$107 million.

Key Drivers and Company Outlook

In a recent investor roadshow, the company acknowledged the ongoing market discussions regarding the expansion of downstream applications for silicon carbide (SiC) substrates.

Following the natural progression of industry development, SiC materials are seeing their application scope widen across various sectors, including automotive, industrial power supplies, new energy, and data center power systems, thanks to their inherent performance advantages.

The overall industry trend is clearly moving towards larger wafer sizes and higher-efficiency applications.

The company maintains that SiC substrates possess significant growth potential in these directions of larger sizes and high-efficiency use.

It is continuously optimizing its product portfolio and advancing customer collaborations around this focus, steadily strengthening its technological and production capacity foundation to improve operational performance.

Market Position and Future Prospects

Analysts have previously highlighted the company's leading market position.

Based on a report from Japan's Fuji Keizai Group released in March 2026, it is estimated that the company's market share in the global conductive SiC substrate market for 2025 was 27.6%, ranking first worldwide.

Within that, its share of the 8-inch market reached 51.3%.

The company is among the few globally capable of mass-producing 8-inch SiC substrates and was a pioneer in introducing 12-inch SiC substrates.

It has completed technical breakthroughs for the full product series of 12-inch conductive N-type, conductive P-type, and high-purity semi-insulating substrates.

Some leading customers have already initiated verification processes or placed orders.

The stable mass production of 8-inch wafers and the forward-looking development of 12-inch technology are expected to position the company advantageously for the next phase of industry competition.
