The French General Confederation of Labour (CGT) stated on Wednesday that Societe Generale plans to eliminate 1,800 positions in France by the end of 2027.
The union declared in a statement: "Management is convening the unions... to present a restructuring plan that will result in the elimination of 1,800 jobs—and without any specific support plan (via attrition)."
The CGT anticipates the bank will issue a statement on Thursday.
