Xiaomi Announces 2026's First "Test-to-Death" Livestream: Turbo 5 Max's 9000mAh Challenges 10000mAh

On January 19, Lu Weibing, Partner and President of Xiaomi Group, President of the Mobile Phone Division, and General Manager of the Xiaomi Brand, announced via a post that the first "test-to-death" livestream of 2026—the Turbo 5 Max Endurance Challenge—will kick off tomorrow at 9 AM. The Turbo 5 Max, equipped with a 9000mAh battery, will compete against rival models with 9000mAh batteries and even go head-to-head with 10000mAh devices.

According to promotional materials, the livestream will start at 9 AM and continue with "intensive testing all day long." During the test, for every minute the Turbo 5 Max leads, one new device will be given away in a lottery. If the Turbo 5 Max's battery life is ultimately defeated, the giveaway rewards will be doubled. Spectators who witness the event will have an additional chance to win 100 gold red packets.
