China's National Development and Reform Commission has announced that the domestic refined oil product price adjustment window will open at 24:00 on August 14. According to monitoring by the Commission's Price Monitoring Center, international oil prices experienced a period of initial decline followed by a rebound during this adjustment cycle, which ran from 24:00 on July 31 to 24:00 on August 14.
Starting from 24:00 on August 14, domestic retail price caps for gasoline and diesel will be reduced by 230 yuan per tonne and 220 yuan per tonne, respectively. On a national average basis, the per-liter price of 92-octane gasoline, 95-octane gasoline, and 0-grade diesel will decrease by 0.18 yuan, 0.19 yuan, and 0.19 yuan, respectively.
With this confirmed reduction in retail prices for refined oil products, a private car owner filling up a standard 50-liter tank of 92-octane gasoline will save 9 yuan per refill.
