Dual Illuminations, One Core Purpose: JCET Group's Technological and Social Contributions

Deep News02-11

Some illuminations occur in the nanoscale world. When light appears at the interface of silicon and photonics, it represents the culmination of countless simulations, alignments, and verifications—a testament to meticulous craftsmanship. This light illuminates the path forward for future computational networks. Other illuminations appear amidst the lights of countless homes. As night falls on mountain paths, solar-powered streetlights push back the darkness, illuminating the footsteps of elderly residents returning home, the laughter of children after school, and the tranquil heartbeat of villages on winter nights. Recently, JCET Group demonstrated such dual illuminations, pushing boundaries with innovation and warming hearts with responsibility: one was the successful "illumination" and testing of a CPO optical engine product using advanced packaging technology at a client's site; the other was the "illumination" of a solar streetlight project in a mountain village, funded by the JCET Group Charity Fund.

Illuminating the Light of Computing Power: Packing a "More Distant Future" into a Smaller Package In the current era of rapid advancement in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, the bandwidth, latency, and energy efficiency of system interconnects are becoming decisive variables. Co-packaged optics (CPO) is regarded as a crucial pathway for next-generation interconnects. It involves the high-density integration of photonic devices and logic chips at the package level through advanced packaging, shortening interconnect distances, reducing losses, and unleashing superior energy efficiency and bandwidth potential at the system level. What JCET Group has "illuminated" is not merely a sample product, but a direct response to an industry challenge: a silicon photonics engine product based on the company's advanced packaging platform has been delivered to the client as a sample and successfully passed testing, marking a critical step towards industrialization for these capabilities. The upgrade from pluggable optical modules to highly integrated CPO devices brings performance improvements at the system level for applications and also promotes a restructuring of value within the industry chain. This beam of "light" originates from continuous investment in advanced packaging technologies and key processes, as well as long-term collaboration with clients moving forward together.

Illuminating the Light of the Village: Allowing a Lamp to Reveal "Closer Happiness" Around the same time, another kind of "illumination" was quietly taking place among the mountains of Youyang County in Chongqing. The "Collaborative Illumination of Mountain Villages by Chongqing and Wuxi" project, partially funded by the "JCET Group Environmental Protection and Health Charity Fund"—established with a donation of 15 million RMB by JCET Group to the Wuxi Charity Federation—was successfully completed. One hundred and eighty solar streetlights were successively installed and illuminated along village roads in Mawang Town, Ganxi Town, Heishui Town, Dingshi Town, and Tonggu Town. Previously, due to insufficient lighting facilities, some villages in Youyang County were plunged into darkness after nightfall, causing significant inconvenience for villagers, especially children and the elderly, traveling at night. Now, with the streetlights illuminated, "bright links" extend into the night. Villagers stroll and chat under the light, children play, and neighborly interactions have become more frequent.

Funding for the "Illuminating Mountain Villages" project came from two sources. As the project progressed, compassionate support continued to gather: the Tencent Charity Wuxi regional platform attracted donations from over 150,000 individuals, raising a total of 100,129.14 RMB. Additionally, a directed donation of 150,000 RMB from the JCET Group Environmental Protection and Health Charity Fund provided the core financial guarantee for the project's implementation. The warm glow of the 180 solar streetlights was illuminated by a combination of corporate strength and public goodwill—the company injected funds through its sense of responsibility, while the public gathered compassion through fingertip philanthropy, transforming every good intention into tangible light for the mountain village. "These streetlights not only light the path under our feet but also warm our hearts!" The sincere words of a Mawang Town resident capture the value of this "heartwarming project." The placement of the streetlights prioritized practical effectiveness, precisely covering key areas such as main village roads, residential clusters, and public activity spaces, enhancing the vitality and sense of well-being in the villages.

Two Illuminations, One Answer These two seemingly distant "illuminations" actually answer the same question: How can a technology company use technology to lead the future while employing responsibility to illuminate human hearts? On the technological front, JCET Group continuously challenges the frontiers, enabling computing infrastructure to achieve higher efficiency and greater scalability. On the social front, JCET Group translates its concern for the environment and health, along with its corporate social responsibility towards rural areas and people's livelihoods, into sustained, tangible actions. Two beams of light, from the same core. JCET Group aspires to continue being the entity that ignites the light: kindling the spark of innovation at the industry's forefront, and eliciting a warm echo within the fabric of daily life.
