NIO ES8 Marks Eight Years of Deliveries with New Five-Seat Edition Launch

On June 28th, the NIO Inc. ES8 celebrated the eighth anniversary of its initial customer deliveries.

To commemorate this milestone, the company held a special event reflecting on the ES8's eight-year journey in the premium electric vehicle market and expressing gratitude to its partners and customers.

At the event, Li Bin, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of NIO, announced that the new five-seat version of the full-scenario technology flagship SUV, the ES8, is now open for pre-orders, with the official launch scheduled for July 9th.

As the very first owner, Li Tianshu, Senior Vice President of NIO, attended the ceremony and formally donated the first delivered domestically produced premium electric vehicle in China—the NIO ES8 Founder Edition No. 0001—to the Beijing Auto Museum, where it will become a symbolic exhibit marking China's breakthrough in the new energy automotive sector.

At the ceremony, Liu Jingquan, Director of the Beijing Auto Museum, presented NIO with a donation certificate.

Director Liu stated that the museum would continue to deepen its collaboration with NIO to create a model of industry-city integration and support industrial development in Beijing's Fengtai District.

The original NIO ES8 began customer deliveries on June 28, 2018.

With its groundbreaking product capabilities, it became the first Chinese brand premium electric SUV to achieve large-scale deliveries, breaking the monopoly of traditional luxury brands in the domestic high-end SUV market priced around 500,000 yuan and officially heralding the entry of Chinese brands into the premium electric vehicle segment.

Through eight years of iteration and three generations of evolution, the ES8 has maintained its leadership position in China's premium electric SUV market, supported by advanced in-house technology, a superior product experience, and a comprehensive energy replenishment service system.

The three generations of the ES8 have collectively earned the recognition and trust of over 210,000 users, establishing the model as a benchmark for domestically produced premium electric SUVs.

The upcoming five-seat version of the ES8 is set to further enrich NIO's product lineup in the large SUV market, continuing to solidify the brand's leading advantage in this segment.
