A camouflaged prototype of the first production model from Saidao Technology, backed by Seres Group Co.,Ltd. (SH: 601127), was recently spotted undergoing high-temperature testing in Turpan, Xinjiang. The sighting, shared by blogger @孙少军09, marks a significant milestone for the AIVA brand as it prepares for its planned launch later this year.
Saidao Technology, co-invested by Chongqing's Shapingba District government and Seres Group Co.,Ltd. (SH: 601127), made its debut in June with the AIVA Origin Concept. The company announced that its first production model, the AIVA ME7, will be released within the year, with the full lineup targeting the mainstream market above 200,000 yuan.
The camouflaged AIVA ME7 spotted in Turpan reveals a design language that appears to carry over from the AIVA Origin Concept. Notable exterior features include a lidar sensor mounted on the roof and a small rear spoiler at the tail, suggesting a focus on advanced driver-assistance systems and aerodynamic performance.
Saidao Technology, formerly known as Chongqing Landian Technology, completed a significant capital increase of approximately 6.671 billion yuan earlier this year. The restructuring positioned local state-owned capital in Chongqing as the largest shareholder, with Seres Group Co.,Ltd. (SH: 601127) as the second-largest. Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (SZ: 300750), also known as CATL, participated through its investment platform.
According to official statements, AIVA represents a "new paradigm" formed through collaboration across multiple industry resources. The brand operates as an independent entity responsible for brand development, product strategy, and business advancement, leveraging the combined strengths of its key stakeholders in the electric vehicle supply chain.
