The 2026 Financial Education and Awareness Week was officially launched on September 7th, marking a collaborative effort by the National Financial Regulatory Administration, the People's Bank of China, and the China Securities Regulatory Commission. This initiative underscores the commitment to the political and people-centered nature of financial work, aiming to enhance public financial literacy and risk mitigation capabilities while safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of financial consumers and investors. This year's event also featured the release of exemplary "practical measures for the people" from the financial industry and the annual selection of popular financial education works.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Ding Xiangqun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, who delivered a keynote address. Distinguished representatives from the Supreme People's Court, the Ministry of Justice, the People's Bank of China, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, China Media Group, and the Beijing Municipal Government were also in attendance.

Under the theme "Clear Financial Networks, Safeguarding Peace of Mind", the week-long campaign will promote effective digital and intelligent financial service measures nationwide. The initiative is designed to deliver targeted financial policy guidance to diverse groups and to highlight emerging financial network risks along with critical preventative measures. By uniting government entities, industry associations, financial institutions, and news outlets, the campaign seeks to mobilize broad societal participation in enhancing the governance of the financial network environment, ensuring that compliant, high-quality, and secure financial services better fulfill the needs of the public.

As a central component of the activities, the financial system will concurrently implement the "Consumer Protection Tips to Your Doorstep" special initiative. Leveraging community-based grid management mechanisms and party-masses service centers, this program will utilize both online and offline channels to deliver financial knowledge and risk prevention advice directly to the public. Furthermore, the campaign will showcase various channels for rights relief services, such as consultation hotlines and dispute resolution mechanisms established by local authorities and financial institutions. This will empower citizens to understand legal recourse options and diverse dispute resolution methods, effectively compressing the space for illegal and unethical practices while reinforcing a nationwide financial security defense.

The launch ceremony was attended both in person and virtually. On-site participants included leaders from relevant departments of the Central Financial Commission, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and other State Council agencies, along with Beijing municipal government officials and representatives from industry associations, financial institutions, and mediation organizations. Officials from financial regulatory bodies outside Beijing participated via video conference.
