A 110-megawatt agricultural photovoltaic project in Weining County, Guizhou Province has achieved full-capacity grid connection. The project marks another milestone in integrating solar power generation with agricultural land use.

The facility, named Bandi Shuangshishan, was developed by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC)'s Guizhou Jinyuan Weining Energy subsidiary. Situated in Bandi Township, Weining County, Bijie City, the solar farm features a DC-side module capacity of approximately 131.17 MWp and an AC-side capacity of 110 MW. A 220kV booster station was constructed as part of the project, with transmission lines feeding into the 500kV Wusha substation.

Once operating at full capacity, the project is expected to generate around 130 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, while cutting carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 100,000 tonnes per year.

SPIC is a centrally-administered state-owned enterprise, formed in May 2015 through the merger of China Power Investment Corporation and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation. The company shoulders the critical mission of safeguarding national energy security. As of the end of August 2026, SPIC manages assets valued at 2.2 trillion yuan, employs 130,000 staff, and oversees 70 second-tier subsidiaries.

Its total installed capacity surpasses 313 million kilowatts, with clean energy accounting for 74.85% of that total.

Guizhou Jinyuan Co., Ltd. traces its roots to November 2000. In December 2004, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guizhou Province injected 40 million yuan into the company for asset restructuring, establishing it as a state-participating enterprise. By December 2008, China Power Investment Corporation (now SPIC) had injected an additional 3 billion yuan through a capital increase, making Guizhou Jinyuan a controlled subsidiary.

By the end of 2025, Guizhou Jinyuan's total power generation capacity reached 20.84 million kilowatts, of which new energy sources comprised 9.27 million kilowatts, representing a clean energy share of 55%.
