United Laboratories’ IDegLira Biosimilar Receives NMPA Acceptance for Marketing Registration

Bulletin Express09-24

On 24 September 2026, United Laboratories International Holdings Limited announced that the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has formally accepted the marketing registration application for Insulin Degludec and Liraglutide Injection (IDegLira). The application—filed under acceptance number CXSS2600154 by wholly-owned subsidiary Zhuhai United Bio-Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.—marks the first IDegLira biosimilar submission in China.

IDegLira is a fixed-dose, once-daily subcutaneous injection combining basal insulin degludec with the GLP-1 analogue liraglutide. By preserving the individual pharmacokinetic profiles of both molecules, the product delivers 24-hour glycaemic control while simultaneously addressing weight management and reducing hypoglycaemia risk.

Management highlighted the filing as a significant milestone in the company’s diabetes portfolio, reinforcing United Laboratories’ competitive position in chronic-disease therapeutics and its commitment to expanding a robust biopharmaceutical pipeline.
