The Changbai Mountain scenic area, located on the golden summer resort belt at 42 degrees north latitude, sees an average temperature of just 18.8°C from June to August each year.
This cool natural climate, combined with high-quality forest resources, is attracting a surge of foreign tourists seeking a summer getaway. Since July, the main scenic area of Changbai Mountain has welcomed over 30,000 visitors per day, with the total number of international tourists increasing by 38% year-on-year. These visitors primarily come from more than ten countries, including South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia.
During the day, tourists explore the natural landscapes. In the town of Erdaobaihe at the foot of the mountain, temperatures drop to around 15°C after nightfall. Here, visitors can browse creative markets and specialty coffee shops, and enjoy parade performances, fireworks shows, and fire dance performances.
These diverse nighttime activities are extending the summer consumption chain.
