On December 15, Zhang Junjie, founder of Chagee Holdings Limited (CHA), married Gao Haichun, daughter of Gao Jifan, founder of solar energy leader Trina Solar, in Changzhou. Videos and photos from the wedding circulated online, showing guests being served large quantities of Chagee milk tea, sparking widespread discussion.
The wedding venue was confirmed to be the Zhongwu Hotel in Changzhou, where Trina Solar is headquartered. According to its official website, the Zhongwu Hotel is a garden-style property invested by Changzhou Jinling Investment Group and managed by Jinling Zhongwu Hotel Management. Located north of Huangliangbang Wetland Park, the hotel spans 220,000 square meters and features an 8,000-square-meter banquet and conference space, including two pillar-free grand ballrooms with 9-meter-high ceilings, capable of hosting 1,200 guests.
A staff member at the Zhongwu Hotel revealed that the wedding took place in the Zhongwu Ballroom, which was exclusively booked from Sunday to Monday. The ballroom can accommodate 10 to 100 tables, covers 1,825 square meters, and has a 9-meter ceiling. "We provide the bare venue, while the couple arranges decorations through their wedding planner," the staff noted.
Booking the entire ballroom requires a minimum budget exceeding 600,000 RMB based on standard catering rates (excluding alcohol). Smaller-scale events can reserve partial sections. Popular dates must be booked at least a year in advance.
Footage from the wedding showed the couple in traditional Chinese attire, with Gao Haichun wearing a phoenix crown. The venue was decorated in a floral Chinese theme, featuring a Chagee beverage station where guests enjoyed signature drinks like "Boyajuexian." Employees from Chagee stores also shared gift boxes containing marshmallows and chocolate-filled biscuits.
Zhang Junjie, born in Kunming, Yunnan, started as a milk tea shop employee at 17 and later ventured into AI before founding Chagee in 2017. The company went public on Nasdaq in April 2025. Zhang debuted on the Hurun Rich List in October 2025 with a net worth of 13.5 billion RMB, becoming the youngest newcomer.
Gao Haichun, currently Trina Solar’s co-chair since January 2025, was appointed co-president of Trina Home in March 2025, working alongside her father. She previously held roles in investor relations, strategic investments, and executive positions at Trina subsidiaries.
