Memory-related stocks opened significantly higher in Hong Kong trading.
At the time of writing, shares of MONTAGE TECH (06809) were up 6.08% at HK$387.2.
Shares of GIGADEVICE (03986) rose 4.95% to HK$721.
VSTECS (00856) shares gained 3.24%, trading at HK$9.88.
The rally is driven by market reports indicating that leading cloud service providers have already secured all available long-term agreement capacity for 2027 and are actively negotiating supply for 2028.
Furthermore, several memory module manufacturers have reportedly been notified by original equipment manufacturers that no additional supply beyond previously committed volumes is available, as upstream production capacity has been largely redirected to meet demand from Nvidia's AI servers and cloud service providers.
Supply chain sources also indicate that with Nvidia's Vera Rubin platform scheduled to begin shipments in the second half of 2026 and HBM4 entering mass production, major cloud service providers are ramping up investments in AI data center expansion, intensifying the competition for memory production capacity.
Upstream capacity has been heavily allocated to Nvidia's AI servers and cloud service provider demand, with nearly all 2027 capacity already committed to these customers.
Previously, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang confirmed that SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Micron Technology have all completed HBM4 certification, have commenced production, and are fully supporting the Vera Rubin platform.
